The teaching competency test for newly appointed faculty members in engineering specializations at public and private colleges in Basra Governorate was held at the Continuing Education Center, University of Basra, in the Bab Al-Zubair Colleges Complex. Four applicants specializing in civil, mechanical, and chemical engineering were tested. Each applicant delivered a specialized lecture demonstrating their academic abilities, their method of delivering the material to students, and their interaction in the lecture hall. Following the lectures, the committee chair and members discussed the key points noted during the lectures to enhance the applicants' teaching skills, their approach to presenting the material, their ability to provide feedback, and their interaction with students.

The applicants were evaluated according to the updated form provided by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
