As part of the Gifted Care Project, which the Cultural Center at University of Basrah boasts of, and in the belief of the College of Engineering, that in light of the transformations the world is witnessing, caring for the talented and anticipating their future has become a priority more than ever, especially because this category plays an important role in the advancement, leadership and distinction of nations.
The College of Engineering has shown a short film entitled Red in bold, directed by the student Doaa Emad Al-Halfi, during which she discussed domestic violence, especially violence against children and its impact on society
Where violence is considered a phenomenon that threatens the security and safety of children, and children witness harmful practices that violate their psychological or physical rights, leaving a wide range of negative long-term effects and consequences on children and on society as a whole, by causing physical pain to the child in a way that humiliates his dignity, which impedes his later growth, and destabilizes the children’s self-confidence and self-esteem, which leads to society’s rotation in the wheel of poverty and exclusion. The assistant administrative dean, Dr. Musab Adel Ali is keen to support the activities of the Cultural Center in nurturing talented and creative young people.
