The College of Engineering at the University of Basrah organized several events to celebrate the 55th anniversary of the university’s Establishing. The events included a book exhibition and a charitable market whose revenues are donated by the students organizing the market to the poor, as well as an exhibition of pictures, paintings, calligraphy and direct drawing, in addition to an exhibition of graduation projects for students of final stages and students of Master.

On the sidelines of the celebration, the President of the University, Prof. Dr. Saad Shaheen Hammadi, attended with the Dean of the College of Engineering, Prof. Dr. Ramzy Salim Ali, for most of the celebration’s activities, and inaugurated a new computer lab and a physics lab in the Civil Engineering Department, and a new lecture hall for primary students in the Department of Computer Engineering.

He also opened a hall for graduate studies and seminars and a laboratory for the foundations of electrical engineering for the first stage in the Department of Electrical Engineering, and a new computer lab was opened in the Department of Mechanical Engineering. A new studio was opened with an exhibition of scientific products in the Department of Architecture.
