The College of Engineering at the University of Basra welcomed a delegation from the Chinese company Geo Jade Petroleum. They were received by the Dean of the College, Professor Dr. Mufeed Turki Rashid, the Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs, Professor Dr. Munir Abdul Jalil Ismail, the Head of the Materials Engineering Department, Dr. Haider Mahdi Layth, and the Director of the Quality Assurance Division, Dr. Ali Kamel Marzouq. This visit was part of efforts to strengthen academic cooperation with international companies operating in the oil and energy sector.
The meeting focused on exploring avenues for joint cooperation in training, development, and the exchange of expertise. This collaboration aims to enhance the skills of the college's students and bridge the gap between academic knowledge and practical applications. The possibility of establishing joint programs and activities that benefit both parties was also discussed.
The Dean emphasized the College of Engineering's commitment to expanding its partnerships with reputable international companies, particularly those operating in the energy sector. This commitment supports the quality of engineering education and aligns with the demands of the job market.
