The College of Engineering at the University of Basrah held a training workshop for students (designing liners used in drilling) within the scientific cooperation between the Department of Petroleum Engineering and the global oil services company Halliburton

The workshop dealt with the method of using an oil program specialized in designing well liners (casingSeat) granted by the company to support the oil department, which contributes to the development of the department’s curricula by addressing real problems and their solutions in the Iraqi oil fields, which increases students’ awareness

Haider Walid, a drilling consultant at Halliburton Company, said that the aim of holding the workshop is to link the practical side with the theoretical side to increase efficiency and enrich students with information to prepare for the labor market and advance the educational reality in Basrah.
