College of Engineering holds a scientific visit to the Mahila water desalination project

The Department of Civil Engineering at the College of Engineering at the University of Basrah organized a scientific visit for fourth-year students to the Mahila water desalination project in Abi Al-Khasib District of Basrah city.

This visit was under the supervision of Dr. Ammar Jassim, Dr. Saad Abu Al-Hail and Dr. Kifah Muhammad, and in the presence of some of the civil engineering teachers, Dr. Jamal Abdul Samad, Dr. Saleh Issa Khassaf, Dr. Abdullah Abdul-Amir, Dr. Ahmed Nasih, Dr. Ayman Alak and Dr. Muhammad Hamid.

The aim of the trip is to familiarize students with the project that was designed based on a very modern and advanced technology that is used in all developed countries, which is called BIM technology for the design and modeling of facilities

which allows more than one engineering specialization to work on the same project and also depends on the treatment and desalination of water mechanically so that it gives desalination of water according to the amount of salts in it and automatically, and thus this is the first station in Iraq to use these advanced technologies.
